Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as important members in the influential clan could assist the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Explorers and Schemers groups.
