US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to media reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.

They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, like:

  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".

"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
