🔗 Share this article Ex- Physician Charged with Assault Allegations Against 38 Individuals in His Care Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients. The Serious Charges Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021. A deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” Scope of the Investigation The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. Breakdown of Offences Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
