Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel. Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement. Regional Interceptions In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space. In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region. Operation "Truthful Promise 4" Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday. That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime. Additional Developments In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage. The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued. Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and fatalities. The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
